Apple has seeded the sixth developer beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate, alongside Release Candidate builds for macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.
The latest macOS 27 test build carries version number 26A5416b and arrives just a week after the fifth beta rolled out to the developer channel. This major software cycle focuses on expanding Apple Intelligence across the Mac while polishing the desktop's visual experience. Apple has introduced a transparency control slider to address readability complaints tied to the Liquid Glass aesthetic, along with more uniform toolbars and cleaner sidebars. Under the hood, Siri AI is integrated directly into Spotlight, bringing onscreen awareness and personal context capabilities to the desktop experience.
For users running older or primary systems, Apple also provided the Release Candidate for macOS Tahoe 26.7 (build 25G220) and macOS Sequoia 15.8 (build 24H16). These updates represent the final stage of testing before the software rolls out to the general public and are expected to focus heavily on under-the-hood maintenance and security. They follow a critical round of patches released earlier this month that resolved an actively exploited Screen Sharing vulnerability across earlier macOS versions.
Registered developers and beta testers can download the new software over the air by navigating to the Software Update menu within System Settings. Full restore images for macOS 27 are also available through the Apple Developer Center for anyone performing a clean installation.
