Otterbox is already selling cases at Best Buy that claim to fit both the iPhone 17 Pro and the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro, indicating the accessory maker expects the two models to share the same dimensions. If correct, owners upgrading from an iPhone 17 Pro could reuse their existing cases.
A photo shared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman on X shows the bottom-right corner of the packaging marked "for iPhone 18 Pro / iPhone 17 Pro" in English and French. The cases are already on store shelves ahead of Apple's expected September announcement, which Gurman described as "a little early."
Otterbox's own website, however, still lists the same Figura case as compatible only with the iPhone 17 Pro. In a reply to Gurman's post, Astropad founder Matt Ronge, whose company makes anti-reflective iPhone screen protectors, said his suppliers also expect iPhone 17 Pro cases to fit the iPhone 18 Pro.
Apple has at times provided established accessory makers with early dimensions so cases are ready when new iPhones launch, though manufacturers have also gambled on rumored designs and occasionally been wrong. Until Apple unveils the iPhone 18 Pro, the packaging should be viewed as an early clue rather than confirmation of compatibility.
