Apple Releases Xcode 27.1 Beta With iPhone Duo SDKs and Simulator [Download]

Apple has released the first beta of Xcode 27.1, giving developers the tools to build and test apps for iPhone Duo ahead of its October 23 launch.

The beta carries build number 27A9269 and requires macOS 26.6. It includes updated SDKs for iPhone Duo, along with a simulator that supports the device’s new poses and orientations.

Apple has also released Figma and Sketch design kits for iPhone Duo through its Design Resources collection. Developers can sign up for workshops around the world focused on optimizing apps and building custom experiences for different screen sizes.

The company introduced its first foldable iPhone on September 9. Apple has also published guidance on how apps should adapt to the device’s displays and configurations.

iPhone Duo is set to ship with iOS 27.1 on October 23. Meanwhile, existing iPhones have moved directly to iOS 27.2 beta testing.
