Apple Code Leaks New iPad mini, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K

Apple appears to be preparing three new devices for launch, with leaked code revealing details about the next iPad mini, HomePod mini, and fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The files, uncovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, include product images and hardware references that suggest the devices are getting close to release, according to the site.

The next iPad mini is identified with Apple's A20 Pro chip, replacing the A17 Pro used in the current model. Product artwork also shows the front-facing camera moved to the landscape edge, bringing the smaller tablet in line with the rest of Apple's current iPad lineup.

Another visible change is a narrow groove at the top of the display glass when the device is held vertically, presumably for the speaker. Previous reports have pointed to a new vibration-based speaker system designed to eliminate conventional speaker holes and improve water resistance. The volume and power buttons remain along the top edge.

The upcoming iPad mini is also expected to feature a slightly larger OLED display and improved water resistance.

Apple's code also contains images of a new HomePod mini that retains the spherical design of the original but comes in five colors: green, pink, blue, white, and black. The files specifically refer to the device as "HomePod mini 2." Green and pink are new additions, while the new blue appears lighter than the shade currently offered.

The original HomePod mini debuted in October 2020 and has yet to receive a hardware successor. The new model is expected to receive an upgraded chip and support Siri AI.

A fourth-generation Apple TV 4K appears in the leaked material as well. Product artwork shows the same external design as the current box, while separate code references point to an A19 or A19 Pro chip. Depending on the configuration, the new model could have 8GB or 12GB of RAM, up from the A15 Bionic and 4GB in the current Apple TV 4K.

Other expected Apple TV upgrades include Apple Intelligence and Siri AI support, along with Apple's N1 networking chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. A revised Siri Remote is also expected, though any external changes to the accessory remain unclear.

Development of the new Apple TV was reportedly finished while Apple waited for its new Siri software. The new Apple TV, HomePod mini, and iPad mini are all expected to launch this fall, potentially as soon as October. It's unclear whether Apple will hold a special event to unveil the new devices or announce them through press releases.
