Ok, but someone please explain to me how compiling the last Andriod kernel in my PC help me to upgrade my Android 1.6 handset? If i cannot upgrade my non-upgradeable 1.6 handset to Andriod 2.2, it doesn't matter if i can download the kernel in compile it in my PC or if it's "open".

Rubin is right. Andoid is open, IOS is closed (sort of). Isn't this the argument folks have been having since time (Apple time) began?

Well congrats to google. I figured they already figured out the Terminal. Anyway, Jobs is right to a degree. Until Google starts to tell the handset providers to unify to one screen size and similar button layouts, it's going to be a pain in the ass for developers.
