Johny Srouji Commits to Apple in Staff Memo: 'I Don't Plan on Leaving Anytime Soon'

Johny Srouji has moved quickly to silence speculation about his future at Apple, telling employees on Monday that he has no immediate plans to leave the company. The senior vice president of hardware technologies sent a memo to his division to reassure staff amid a wave of high-profile departures.



"I know you've been reading all kind of rumors and speculations about my future at Apple, and I feel that you need to hear from me directly," Srouji wrote in the note seen by Bloomberg. "I love my team, and I love my job at Apple, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon."


The internal message follows a report from over the weekend that claimed Srouji had told CEO Tim Cook he was considering a departure. That report suggested he had discussed taking a role at another technology firm, prompting Cook to intervene with incentives that reportedly included a substantial pay package and the possibility of expanded responsibilities in the future.

Retaining Srouji provides some much-needed stability for Apple's executive team, which has faced significant turnover in recent weeks. The company recently confirmed that General Counsel Kate Adams and environmental chief Lisa Jackson will retire in 2026. Those announcements followed news that design executive Alan Dye was leaving for Meta and AI chief John Giannandrea would step down. Longtime COO Jeff Williams also retired in November.

Srouji is viewed as one of Apple's most critical leaders, having overseen the company's successful transition to custom silicon. His team is responsible for the A-series chips in the iPhone and the M-series processors for the Mac, including the recently debuted M5 chip. In his memo, Srouji highlighted his pride in the work his group is doing across chips, batteries, displays, cameras, and sensors.

"Together we enable the best products in the world," he said.
