I got this error after upgrading Jailbroken and Unlocked iPhone 4 with baseband 01.59.00 on iOS 4.0.1 to iOS 4.3.3 using this guide: "Unable to find gBdevList Unable to find fs_mount Unable to find fs_unmount Unable to find fs_load _file Greenpois0n initialized" It was a mess to fix it but I was lucky enough to find this post that save my life and USD 400 that I paid for my iPhone: These are the steps that I followed: 1- Open Tinyumbrella and click Fix Recovery 2- While it is launching Greenpois0n go to the terminal and run ./irecovery -s a couple of times. That stops Greenposon to load and the iPhone will get a white screen. 3- Then I opened Redsnow, Extras and click on PWNED DFU. 4- Finally I Restore from iTunes a Custom ipsw 4.3.3 created with Pwnage

Hey everyone! I was wondering if this works with Verizon's 4.2.7? I keep trying to downgrade to 4.2.6, but its not allowing me to. Even after TinyUmbrella,, and DFU mode. I tried doing this method a bunch of times but kept getting the "Setting to configuration 1 Setting to interface 0:0 opening device 05ac:1281... " thing on the recoveryfix. I haven't tried putting it into DFU mode during that time, so I'm going to try again soon, but I'm also wondering if it has something to do with me being on my college's internet. Any suggestions?
Christine - April 28, 2011 at 12:52pm
Also, I just tried doing it again, and now i got Error (21)???
Uriel - April 28, 2011 at 9:51am

Received error 1013 with no problems but, when i had to use TinyUmbrella FIX 43, the terminal keeps looping on "interface 0:0..." and cant get out of recovery. Anybody could help me please? I will appreciate so much. Phone was in 4.0.1. bb 01.59.00 Upgraded to 4.3.2, trying not to change de bb, using this guide. Thank you!!

Thanks

Cannot Upgrade to 4.3.1 using tiny umbrella to secure my baseband getting error 1604 on a mac i am able to downgrade to 4.1 with no problem could someone help please
M4rck - April 10, 2011 at 10:33am
What's your BB (BaseBand) and your device? You can make a custom firmware with Pwnage Tools to preserve your BB, but if you are using an unlocked iPhone (Software Unlocked) first look your BB to know if you can upgrade it!
sking87 - April 6, 2011 at 8:24pm
i tried this today(4/6/11) and i read the comments and put my iphone 4 bb 2.10.04 into dfu mode and ran the fixrecovery43 and when terminal comes up at the end it says Reason: Incompatible library version: fixrecovery43 requires version 6.0.0 or later, but libcurl.4.dylib provides version 5.0.0. Trace/BPT trap logout any help will be truly appreciated. thank you.

Anyone else stuck on the terminal codes? I'm stuck here and phone stuck on plug into itunes Setting to configuration 1 Setting to interface 0:0 opening device 05ac:1281... and keeps repeating.
Fish - April 4, 2011 at 5:21pm
jup, me too
Fish - April 4, 2011 at 5:26pm
Ah, never mind. You have to put it into DFU. Just open up the batch file. The first thing the terminal window will say is to put it into DFU. So, while it is doing this "Setting to configuration 1 Setting to interface 0:0 opening device 05ac:1281... ".. Just hold the home+power button in fo 8 seconds, then release the power button.. voila!
Joe N
Joe N - April 4, 2011 at 6:12pm
Thanks Fish. That worked like a charm. However, now the phone needs to be set up form iTunes. If I restore from a previous backup will I lose the jailbreak?
Fish - April 4, 2011 at 6:15pm
Good stuff. Well, if you have already jailbroken your device and also synced it with the old backup I recommend using redsn0w for the jailbreak as it does not require reinstallation of the firmware like pwnagetool.
Hunter - April 4, 2011 at 7:35pm
Thanks this worked! The trick is timing it just right to enter DFU mode.

same here! can't get it out of recovery mode. tried fix recovery but wasn't successful.. please post any hints here..
miro - April 7, 2011 at 3:21am
hey fish, thanks a lot for the hint, worked like a charm for me, too! the iphone i got is completely new and has not been activated it, so updating to 4.3.1 according to this tut was the first thing i did when i got it in my hands. could you give me a quick guid how to proceed in order to jailbreak and then unlock the thing? that would be amazing! thanks in advance!!
christian - April 19, 2011 at 4:54pm
I need help with getting my phone out of recovery mode please. nothing happens when i open the terminal. pls help
miro - April 20, 2011 at 3:38am
you jsut have to time it right according to what fish wrote.. 'while it is doing this "Setting to configuration 1 Setting to interface 0:0 opening device 05ac:1281... ".. Just hold the home+power button in fo 8 seconds, then release the power button' it most definitely works, I also had to try 2 or 3 times..
Christian - April 21, 2011 at 11:23am
this is the message the fix is giving me: dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcurl.4.dylib Referenced from: /Users/shyam/Downloads/fixrecovery-osx/fixrecovery43 Reason: Incompatible library version: fixrecovery43 requires version 6.0.0 or later, but libcurl.4.dylib provides version 5.0.0 Trace/BPT trap logout [Process completed] Also I have no idea what Fish is talking about... Get ne one give me details?
Uriel - April 27, 2011 at 11:18pm
Hey Fish, i've felt relax when you wrote never mind, but then im still couldnt kick out of recovery mode. Im upgrading to 4.3.2 bb 01.59.00. I've got only to the error 1013 rapidly, but then, could compleate the last step. The worst thing is that i only have the shsh for the 4.3.2 fw, nor any previosly one. Can you say to me some magic words? would really apretiate sooo much. Thank you!!

np - April 4, 2011 at 1:31pm
How long the restore process is supposed to last? The progress bar in my iphone do not pass little more than half bar and iTunes progress bar is stucked near the end process.. should I unplug and retry in DFU mode?
Pat - April 4, 2011 at 9:28am
I did everything, but I can't get it out of recovery mode. I'm in DFU and run fixrecovery43, but in terminal it keeps repeating the same three lines: opening device **ac:****... Setting to configuration 1 Setting to interface 0:0 (The * just replace the numbers that are actually there)
Pat - April 4, 2011 at 9:32am
Also, it says I should see scrolling text on my phone when i open the recovery. I don't, it just has the connect to itunes the whole time.
sdnativeboy - April 4, 2011 at 10:21am
Same for me. Did anyone test this?
Pat - April 4, 2011 at 12:02pm
I have solved it. I redownloaded the recovery tool and it worked. Make sure you enter DFU. If anything comes up (apple, etc.) when trying to enter DFU, then you did it wrong. It should stay a black screen until the lines, as described in the walkthrough, appear.
christine - April 26, 2011 at 9:57pm
I keep having the same problem! I keep putting it in DFU mode, but the same lines keep showing up on the recovery fix over and over again. any more solutions/suggestions?
Pat - April 26, 2011 at 10:40pm
If you have the error in my first post, then you still are not going into DFU mode. When trying to put it in DFU mode, nothing should show up (apple logo, etc.). It took me at least 10 times to get the timing right. Timing is very important for entering DFU mode. Search for some hints about entering DFU. Eventually, you will get the timing right and you'll know it because the text will appear on the iphone screen as described in the walkthrough. I reiterate that anything besides this text means your timing is off. My timing varied only a second or two different but eventually it was right and everything went as described.

OK...Did this and lost my original jailbreak, I did save the shsh, but I don't know what to do now...HELP!
cardo - April 3, 2011 at 9:42pm
if you was using 4.2.1 firmware and your baseband is the 1.59.00, download the 4.2.1, restore using it - via itunes (it will still not work at this time), run pwnagetool, load the firmware you've downloaded, after it has done, restore using the file pwnagetool was created (via itunes). then install the repository of ultrasn0w to unlock. i think this could work. it worked for me.

I was on 4.1. Help?!
cardo - April 3, 2011 at 5:59pm
to all who want to try this: DON'T DO IT! it's not stable. i did it and i got stuck at "emergency call". now i did an iOS downgrade back to 4.2.1.
Fish - April 4, 2011 at 5:27pm
That's normal. It's waiting for activation.. Now you have to jailbreak your phone and install Ultrasn0w..
cardo - April 3, 2011 at 4:01pm
also, i'm getting this error at "fix recovery": libusb:error [darwin_transfer_status] transfer error: timed out
cardo - April 3, 2011 at 3:53pm
i did it, and after i run the "fix recovery" iphone boots in "emergency call". so, wtf should i do now?

Greenpoison it check tutorial last step for jailbreak
? - April 3, 2011 at 8:34pm
i think greenpoison does not hacktivate your phone :)
Tom - April 3, 2011 at 3:35pm
So i take it this means no unlock for newer basebands huh????
AlexGasser - March 25, 2011 at 9:56pm
Dear Friends: I have 2 questions. 1.- it is possible now with the FW 4.3.1 released ? 2.- It is an "Untheter" solutions?
Phil - April 3, 2011 at 2:01pm
I don't get. The tutorial is to upgrade to 4.3.1 and keep the same baseband so you can keep your phone unlocked but there has not been a untethered JB released for 4.3.1 and your phone has to be jailbroken for the unlock. This doesn't make sense.
cardo - March 2, 2011 at 12:08am
i just would like to add that, after trying jailbreak with greenpois0n, it didn't work out. but it worked using the pwnage tool 4.2. :-) thank you guys!
William - April 4, 2011 at 1:24pm
It's because greenpois0n is only for 4.2.1. You have to use the updated redsn0w, pwnagetool or sn0wbreeze...
josephs8 - February 13, 2011 at 10:00am
This works great thanks!!! Follow directions and you can do this!

I keep on getting the 1604 error no matter what I do. I have an iphone 4 on 4.1 with baseband 1.59.00. I've tried restoring on a mac, windows machine and another mac but I keep hitting the same problem. I tried doing it both in DFU mode and recovery mode but still the dreaded 16xx error. I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you save your SHSH BLOGS, after you will want to start TSS SERVER, iTunes will close. you will have to open it again, and then restore. But make sure you save your shsh blogs with tiny umbrella. Hope This Helps.

Hi. Just one stupid question as I'm new to this. What is the purpose of not upgrading the baseband? Pros and cons? Hpe that someone has time to clarify this to me. Thanks in advance. /jannek999
MZA - February 5, 2011 at 6:27pm
This tutorial only applies to those people who already are using an unlocked iPhone 4. For the unlock to be worked, the baseband must be at the version 1.59.00 for now, (unless the dev-team or geohot or some good fellas come up with an unlock for the current baseband version).
