German Court Partly Lifts Injunction Against Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

The Düsseldorf regional court partly lifted the injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab today after its authority to issue an EU-wide ban against a company headquartered in South Korea was questioned, according to the WSJ.

A court spokesman said that since it was disputable whether it is possible for a German court to ban a company headquartered in South Korea from selling goods outside Germany, the court decided to lift the injunction for countries outside Germany for now.

The court spokesman said that Samsung's German unit was still banned from selling the device in the entire European Union, including the Netherlands.

Samsung has appealed the decision and a court hearing is scheduled for August 25th.

Yesterday, a report suggested that Apple may have been using doctored or flawed images in its complaint against Samsung; however, neither company has commented on the matter.
