Just a comment about a bug that may or may not have anything to do with Wipwn or Cydia:
:
I "opened" my 2.0 3G iphone using Winpwn and everything went well. However, when I started Cydia application and had to install several "critical" updates, mu iPhone crashed. I had to reboot it using soft reboot and afterwards everything went wel, it seemed.
Then, three days later I could not use the phone application: I could not dial and the GUI for the phone was not complete (the "call" on the green rectangle was not available). Since then 2.0.1 came so, I re-installed everything again using WinPwn. Cydia crashed again, as before, but after soft re-boot went fine. Two days later the same bug: I could not use the phone. I re-installed the entire software using Mac this time. After that, Cydia application did not crash (it was the same beta 4 version of Cydia) and my phone works like a champ for more than two weeks now.
Does anyone has the same experience?

@David Ab - Are you Mac or PC. Aren't your contacts, photos and music in iTunes, Outlook/Mac Address Book, already? Generally you never lose those things because they just sync back.
iTunes should be backing up your phone automatically, but in itunes, just click on the phone's icon and force a full backup, then you can restore settings and stuff from the backup. Google for more instructins, but I've never lost any data permanently by doing firmware upgrades, restores, etc. I was even able to bring al my iPhone old version data to my new 3G by just restoring from iTunes.

one last thing, i did this on my touch. The last comment on gizmodo reads:
"DO NOT use this if you ever plan on unlocking your 3G iPhone. Wait for the full pwnage tool. The iPhone dev team has stated this will also upgrade your radio baseband which you DO NOT want to do if unlocking your phone in the future is in any way important to you."

It works man. i'm not technically savvy about how but i followed what i posted then installed ssch(how you spell that- i told you i'm not savvy), boss pref, & "dock". I was able to sch into the device to change the mobile installation file & run bosspref to remove icons.
Give it a shot.

How to jailbreak 2.0.2 in windows (worked for me!)
0) Make sure you have the original 2.0.1 ipsw (not jailbroken)
Located in:
a) C:\Documents and Settings\*USER HERE*\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
or
b) C:\Users\**USERNAME**\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
1) Update to 2.0.2 in itunes
2) Load QuickPWN, select your device, load the older firmware, then let it do it's thing.
3) Tada! You're ahead of the curve :)
