Silicon Valley venture capitalists are reporting an increase in the number of Apple employees looking for opportunities outside of the company, according to Business Insider. Typically venture capitalists have not bothered much will Apple because the company had a reputation for hanging on to its employees despite lower pay and perks.
"More generally there is a growing level of dissatisfaction among Apple executives and employees, and a greater willingness to explore leaving," says one investor. Another VC told us that his firm has recently seen a noticeable increase of resumes coming in from people at Apple.
According to the VCs, things are starting to change due to higher pay at startups and because "Apple culture has started to change with the new leadership on top".
Notably, this aligns with recent comments made by popular Daring Fireball blogger, John Gruber who said that retention is "the single biggest problem that Apple faces, and almost nobody is talking about."
it was just a matter of time before this happened, I used to work for Apple Retail and the culture has changed completely, they don't care their customers anymore, they only want to make more money.
