I'm sorry but the big three, and all of you posters that work for them, just don't get it. It isn't just about price. A lot of us just can't stand the big three, and we want the chance to jump ship just so we don't have to deal with them any more. If we get a price discount, that's a bonus.
The big three have treated Canadians as sheep to be sheared for a long time. They got most of their spectrrum for free, and then gave us one of the most expensive wireless markets in the world. It just adds insult to injury when they come to us now, wrapped in a flag, asking for support so they can maintain their high priced monopoly.
I'll go to Verizon, even at the same price I'm paying now, just to put a tiny pin prick in their smug, greedy arrogance.

Sure. When you kill that oligarchy, which companies are going to be subsidizing the money losing parts of the business with their wireless profits? Probably not Verizon or any other external competitor; you have to really stretch the imagination to see Verizon providing the "last mile" to customers in places most Canadians do not know exist, or keeping pay phones in selected locations as a public service. Canadian telcos do more than rip off people to email party pictures to each other.

I am with Rogers. I am not happy with their services and the price that I pay. Is there anything I can do? Not really. With the three year contracts and SUPER EXPENSIVE penalty cancellation fees....I'm forced to stay with them. So boycotting Canadian mobile company is not an option for me. Rogers is a money-driven company, and so is Bell and Telus. The amount of charges on my phone bill is ridiculous, and calling a Rogers rep, who doesn't speak English that well, makes me seem to be the bad guy. Fckk that. Verizon, please come quick. A plan that cost $30 just for data service is OUTRAGEOUS, that's not including Voice plan etc...

Verizon is a well established player, not a small foreign company. The goal of allowing new entrants was for small companies to come in and lower prices, the goal was never for a company as large as Verizon, pretty much take over the entire Canadian mobile industry. This is an American colony that would be killing Canadian jobs. It is not right. Tells, Bell Rogers are doing exactly what they should be doing, protecting there Canadian company and jobs. Verizon can enter, but they should have to follow the rules of the established players, to allow for a fair and competitive mobile industry.

I think the Canadian companies are cash cows and Verizon needs to undercut them all by 50%.

Please use more appropriate language. But, I have nothing wrong with Verizon coming up, they just need to follow the rules of an established player as they are one already. And in the US Verizon is no better when compared to AT&T, so they all rip-off consumers.

I do not work at any of the carriers. Thank You. I just believe in fairness and to be fair Verizon must be on equal footing to the big 3

...should be brought on their knees by a new competitor. Their anti-competitive tactics should be their undoing. Bunch of cry-babies who claim to be investing in Canada yet regularly drop signals in major cities. Bell, Telus and Rogers could stand to learn something from 3rd world nation cellular firms.
