Designer Stu Crew has rendered what Mac OS X would look like if it was heavily influenced by iOS 7 design principles.
Crew's design matches iOS 7's flat, translucent feeling and removes a lot of the textures and gradients you see in OS X Mavericks. Crew rendered how Finder, Calculator, Contacts, Siri, Notification Center, Spotlight, Notes and iTunes would look like with more 'coming soon'
It wouldn't be surprising to see OS X look more like iOS 7 with Apple's love uniformity.
We have posted a few images on the site below, but for the full gallery check out Crew's blog below.
Less is more. I absolutely love it! People don't like change that's why they give it bad reviews. Change is inevitable. Move with the times or get left behind.
I really don't mean this in a dicky way, I'm asking seriously: have you been using the beta versions of iOS 7? I'm asking because when I saw the previews, I thought to myself "man, that's some ugly crap". But I then updated my iPhone to iOS 7 and used it for a while. I later restored iOS 6 because of some bugs, not surprising in a beta, and I gotta tell you... I really miss how iOS 7 felt!!! I don't like some of the icons, sure, but overall the feel and flow of it is soooo far superior to the previous firmwares. If you haven't actually used it, give it a chance and then you might see why some people feel that previous iOS's are clunky. I think a similar shift in OS X would actually be great. I'm just saying.
I agree with the OP here, I downloaded and have been using iOS 7 since B2, and think everything has gotten simpler to the point where the whole thing is borderline stupid. It's ugly. There has been very little functional change. The icons are watered down to the point that it's hard to tell what each logo means. I am in the process of reverting it back to iOS 6.0.1.
Please don't do this with my beloved OSX.

A serious question... part 2 - August 9, 2013 at 2:13am
I have to agree about the icons. I find myself having to "study" them more to find my system app then I used to, they definitely don't catch the eye as quickly as the previous versions. But honestly, overall, I prefer iOS 7.
i really dont know why they went that way, the world technology is going for 3D industry and now all this really takes all the beauty away going back to the 2D world only using some colours just as the Microsoft metro boring tiles .. i really hope they dont go with that as i dont like the new ios7 design
UGLY IOS. Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler. Here they went over simplicity, no depth in the design. We will see in few weeks the feedback of people.
That, or something like that, would be awesome. OS X is also heavy and outdated, I do hope it follows the path of iOS. Look, I'm not crazy about every single icon in iOS, there are aesthetic touches that I don't like, but overall it is a huge step forward in design and "feel".
