Apple will discontinue the iPad 2 in the near future, after almost three years on the market, says AppleInsider.
According to people familiar with Apple's plans, the company has made the decision to ramp down iPad 2 production given that customers are resoundingly shifting purchases towards its more modern and capable iPads, namely the iPad mini and iPad Air.
Late last year, KGI Securities analyst Mich-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple would discontinue the iPad 2 in the first quarter of 2014 following estimated sales of only 1.7 million units in the December quarter and then 0.3 million in 1Q14.
The non-Retina iPad 2 featured a redesign of the original iPad. It came in a new white color with a FaceTime camera, Smart Cover support, and an A5 processor.

It's an old ass ipad, maybe it's rare yet people like newer ones like me. Plus it's used in contests so people won't waste money.
