Apple’s iPhone 5s is still the bestselling smartphone in May 2014, 8 months after its launch last year. Samsung’s new flagship, Galaxy S5 comes in at second, reports Counterpointresearch.com.
According to Counterpoint’s channel survey across 35 countries, Apple’s iPhone 5s continues to be the bestselling phone in the world, a spot that many expected to be taken by Samsung’s Galaxy S 5. The highly anticipated Galaxy S5 comes in at second place but still a quite distant number two in terms of (sell through) unit sales. The iPhone 5c shipments continue to decline but Apple continued clearing excess inventory for the iPhone 5c during the month. apple iPhone 5c sales put it behind Samsung’s last year’s flagship Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note III.
We posted a similar report earlier this month which only looked at U.K. sales. This report has the iPhone 5s topping the charts for 35 countries.
just a matter of time before the s5 takes its rightful place at the top of the pile what people fail to realise is the s5 has just only been released where as crapple released the 5 last year ...android :-) for me ...s5
Where is iphone 5? I can't believe that its not in the list. This is the first iphone with 1GB of memery. Maybe the report combine the 5 and 5s to be able to stay on top. This is cheating.
Doesn't mean anything. Samsung has many devices that divide the number. When the iPhone 6 comes in two different flavors, it's number will be shared between devices. So then possibly samsung will take the lead. But I don't really care either way who is in the lead. I care about healthy competition for better products in my pocket.
Samsung is really being original !!!! if you take a look at samsung predecessors they are really following a pattern. S, S2, S3, S4, S5 . And sure pretty soon there will be a S6, S7, S8
