Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has discovered that according to the iOS Simulator, on the 5.5-inch iPhone screen size several system apps switch to the iPad layout in landscape.
Notably, the apps don't do this at the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 resolution. Troughton-Smith also notes that the landscape view uses modal view controllers instead of iPad-style popovers.
Kinda interesting - an iPhone that can be an iPhone in portrait, but an iPad in landscape. Productivity when you need it.
Check out some examples of what Contacts and Calendars look like when in this landscape mode below.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9th. We'll have plenty of coverage before, during, and after. You can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates. The iClarified app can be downloaded from the App Store for free!

Does this mean that on the 5.5 we can download iPad apps and play them? It's going to be called the iPhone iPad mini mini and the 4.7 is going to be called the iPhone maxi
