Apple Releases iOS 8.4.1 Beta to Developers for Testing

Posted July 14, 2015 at 5:18pm by iClarified
Apple has released iOS 8.4.1 beta to developers for download and testing. The beta is build number 12H304.

This is a pre-release version of iOS 8.4.1 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Devices updated to iOS 8.4.1 can not be restored to earlier versions of iOS.

At this point it's unclear what's new; however, it's possible that Apple may be looking to close exploits used by the TaiG jailbreak or fix issues with Apple Music.

Developers can download the update from the link below.

Apple, instead of spending the time and effort to disable jailbreak exploits, how about creating an iOS that users actually prefer, like individual customization? Wouldn't the device owner/user be better served by providing the highest quality UI for your product that they own...or should I say, lease? (tongue in cheek) The frustrating part of "owning" Apple devices is, that one's personal choices are much too limited, and unfortunately, one OS size or style, does not fit all, the majority is not always right. Personally, I prefer Apple products for the build quality, not for the OS, it's just too confining, and bloated with useless apps. Also, Apple, enough with the pretentious "New" product conferences...they're just silly and condescending.

Why can't we dfu down to 8.4? It should be possible to do that, what makes 8.4.1 not downgradable to 8.4?

It's a developer beta, and yes you can downgrade.

You'll have to "Restore" to iOS 8.4. You can't "Update" from the beta

That makes sense. Generally when you update, you don't go back, you move forward
