Geohot has announced that he will be releasing a BlackRa1n jailbreak application for Mac in the near future.

"blackra1n for mac coming soon...actually reuses code...NSRunAlertPanel causing crashes...and can anyone blackify the purplera1n mac icon?"

We will inform you when it becomes available. For the time being you can check out our BlackRa1n for Windows tutorial.

STILL NOT WORKING, WINDOWS BLACKRA1N DIDNT WORK FOR ME AND NOW MAC BLACKRA1N DOESNT WORK EITHER, BOTH STUCK IN RECOVERY MODE!

my computer is telling me its not supported on this system. i have an older powerbook g4. maybe the OS im using is too old for blackra1n. would anyone might know what OS i would need to use it?

oh i see. thanks. i ended up trying the pwnage tool 3.1.4. and it works like a charm. it alittle longer but works. no problems here. thanks dna

can someone tell me what might happen if i jailbreak and don't have my ecid info stuff done? i've tried going to the blackra1n.com site and generating the file, blah blah blah, but when i enter the ecid number and hit enter, nothing happens! is this only needed to downgrade? will i still be able to upgrade in the future without having done this? i'm totally lost.. i've only had my 3G(S) like 3 weeks and have been fighting off jailbreaking... now that i'm wanting to, i'm a little scared! thanks in advance guys/girls!

If you jailbreak you can use cydia to get your ECID SHSH files .. It's called make my life easier ... You click that in cydia and you are done..
