Interactive Mediums, a leading provider of next generation customer engagement solutions designed to facilitate high value interactions with today's on-the-go consumer, has announced the completion of an iPhone application version of Newser's signature "grid" - vivid snapshots of the news of the day in photos, headlines and pop-up summaries.

Newser is a two-year old advertising-supported news site that combines the wisdom of editors and the power of technology to offer a richer, smarter and more entertaining news experience. "With more than one million monthly readers, Newser has established itself as the preferred destination for the best stories and sources by a growing number of sophisticated news readers, including an ever-increasing number of readers who prefer to get their news from their iPhones," said Michael Wolff, Newser's Founder.

Although available in a mobile-optimized form for Web browsers on iPhone, BlackBerry and other similarly capable phones, Newser sought a solution to create a richer user experience more akin to the visual interactivity of its news graphically intense news grid available on desktop computers.

Newser's new iPhone application successfully brings the unique Newser grid to life on the iPhone, thanks to Interactive Mediums' ability to integrate the service with such capabilities as Picture Viewer.

John Filut, VP and general manager at Newser, said, "Interactive Mediums has helped us overcome limitations we faced on several mobile platforms. With the new iPhone application, we can take advantage of the rich visual capabilities of the iPhone platform -- capabilities that are expected by iPhone users. Interactive Mediums brought deep experience in the iPhone platform and understood our objective to meet the expectations of the mobile consumer in a way consistent with our desktop presence."

In addition to creating a mobile version of the now iconic Newser grid, the iPhone application will also include story-sharing capabilities. Integration with the iPhone's contact manager allows Newser viewers to share Newser's stories with friends and colleagues, just as rapidly as they can from their desktop.

"We are very excited to work with a company like Newser that truly values being consistent among different mobile interaction channels," said Jeff Judge, Interactive Mediums co-founder. "The iPhone is the ideal platform to achieve Newser's goal and as we have done for many of our clients, we brought a solid understanding of platform capabilities to power a mobile experience similar to what Newser's viewers experience on their desktops."
