Apple has launched a new battery replacement program for iPhone 6s devices that are experiencing unexpected shutdowns.
Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.
Users who are experiencing this issue should visit an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider to have their iPhone's serial number checked to confirm eligibility for a battery replacement, free of charge.
Replacement Process Choose one of the service options below to have your battery replaced. Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order.
This happens to my 6s plus on a weekly basis at above 10% battery. Did it again this morning. Goes completely dead and needs to be plugged in to restart it.
Mine had the this issue, it was switching itself of at 30%-40%. When complained to apple store, they replaced the phone even before this replacement program.
Mine shuts down anywhere between 10-30%, but the phone shuts off even higher if it's cold. I was doing a job for a two-way company and the temperature was 50 degrees out. I was taking a few pics on the tower and my phone shuts off... at 76%!!! And it won't turn on until I plug it in. So frustrating!
