Microsoft Says 'More People are Switching from Macs to Surface Than Ever Before'

In blog post touting its new Surface products, Microsoft says more people are switching from Macs to Surface than ever before.

November was the best month ever for consumer Surface sales.

The Best Buy-exclusive Surface bundle sold out on the first day. The momentum was seen worldwide. In the UK, we had the best single week for Surface ever and in Germany the Surface Pen became the best seller in PC Accessories on Amazon.com for over 12 hours.

The company says its Macbook trade-in program is more popular than it has ever been.

More people are switching from Macs to Surface than ever before. Our trade-in program for MacBooks was our best ever, and the combination of excitement for the innovation of Surface coupled with the disappointment of the new MacBook Pro – especially among professionals – is leading more and more people to make the switch to Surface, like this. It seems like a new review recommending Surface over MacBook comes out daily. This makes our team so proud, because it means we’re doing good work.

It's possible that Microsoft is seeing additional switchers of late as some users are disappointed with the latest MacBook Pro offering from Apple. There are have been concerns from some users over price, compatibility and performance.

Apple says "We are proud to tell you that so far our online store has had more orders for the new MacBook Pro than any other pro notebook before. So there certainly are a lot of people as excited as we are about it."

I work as an IT professional for large logistic service provider. I have been a Mac and Windows user for years. This year I decided to give Microsoft Surface a chance. Sold my MBpro Retina and purchased a brand new high end Surface tablet. The hardware was nice but poor batterlife and the minimal screen relastate was getting in the way of me beeing productive. And then there's Windows 10. Win10 is a great desktop OS which I use on a daily basis. But boy as a tablet OS it's just terrible and nothing more than a curiocity. My Surface was showing serious crashed and stability issues from time to time, which halted my workflow for hours. And the there's Windows updates. My Surface was regularly busy installing them at boot time, keeping me from doing work for minutes to hours. I therefore decided to sell the Surface and ordered new MBpro. My advice is. Give it a chance. It could work for you. For me it clearly did not.

I almost sold the Mac Book Pro that I got last year because I just got the new one, any way after a week of using the new one I'm returning it, everything about the new one is a bluff, my older pro is way more powerful, on the other hand I also bought a surface which sadly I find myself using more and more and using the Mac less, my new Mac Book Pro is going back to Apple I'm returning it because it's absolutely not worth getting one or keeping the new Dongle Pro, which makes me sad because I was always an Apple person but this new Apple company that thinks about money first and then their customers is not the Apple company that I fell in love with.

Well, no one can guess 10 years ago, there will be no Nokia, so bad products and decisions can sink a company, no one had to buy products making life complicated, because others saying that it is the best product, using 6s plus and thinking it is the best phone in market that suits me
