T-Mobile Bumps Deprioritization Threshold to 30GB/Month

Posted March 10, 2017 at 6:04am by iClarified
T-Mobile has raised its deprioritization threshold for customers on its unlimited plan to 30GB/month. The change was first reported by a T-Mobile employee on reddit.

Based on network statistics for the most recent quarter, customers who use more than 30GB of data during a billing cycle will have their data usage prioritized below other customers’ data usage for the remainder of the billing cycle in times and at locations where there are competing customer demands for network resources. At the start of the next bill cycle, the customer’s usage status is reset, and this data traffic is no longer prioritized below other traffic.

Previously, T-Mobile had set its deprioritization threshold to 28GB/month. For comparison, Sprint's is set at 23GB/month and Verizon and A&T's are set at 22GB/month.

It's true... You've used 28GB of data this month. If you exceed 30GB before your T-Mobile cycle resets on 03/11/2017, you still get unlimited data but may at times notice reduced speeds in areas with network congestion. Info & usage tips:
