The new facial recognition on the iPhone 8 will support Apple Pay, multiple faces, and third party apps, according to Guilherme Rambo. The developer found evidence that Face ID (Pearl ID) will support these features in the HomePod's firmware.
About Pearl ID: 1 - The software definitely supports it for payments 2 - 3rd party apps can use it 3 - You can add multiple faces
Rambo also found evidence that facial recognition may be possible when the iPhone is lying flat, corroborating an earlier rumor from Bloomberg.
It's believed that Face ID will replace Touch ID on the iPhone 8. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

It's either taking a selfie (which may resemble a mugshot btw) aka SelfieID, or going the good ol' password way with Apple Pay. I see epic anger coming shortly, then everyone chills ;)
