kkk so do i have to reset my entire ipod in order to do this? ugh and if i do, exactly how do i get EVERY song off of my ipod? Ive used eph pod or whatever and some other ones but it only takes off a small fraction of the songs, i used it when i got my new ipod touch. or is there another way to jailbreak my ipod without loosing my songs or resetting my ipod?

After the black screen even releasing both buttons followed by unplugging and plugging the cable will work. Then just allow itunes to check for updates and restore...and it should do the trick

to solve your BSDRoot problem.. do the following:
1) Start iTunes and plug the phone in.
2) With the phone powered on, hold both the POWER and HOME buttons for
seven seconds. The screen should turn black.
3) Wait two seconds while the screen is black and release the POWER button
while still holding the HOME button.
4) The screen will remain black, but after a few more seconds iTunes will
detect the phone in recovery mode.
5) Release the HOME button and proceed to restore firmware with iTunes.
Timing is fairly important on this. If your phone reboots or ends up in
recovery mode, just try again. You might want to look at a clock that shows
seconds while you do this. The timing needs to be exact for it to work.
If you enter this mode by mistake, hold the HOME and POWER buttons for
seven seconds until you see the Apple logo and immediately release both
buttons. The phone should reboot normally, assuming a valid firmware image
is present on the phone.

for everybody put there whos got BSD ROOT error and cant restore back:
dnt wory its really simple!!
u just have to put ur ipod in DFU mode!
Ull find this as a setting in ziphone..when u put ur ipod in dfu mode and connect to itunes ur ipods screen will turn white and u will be able to restore again
( if u cant find the switch to dfu mode setting tgeres another way to do that using itunes and a combination of home and sleep/wake button in a certain order..just google it up)

even after numerous restores still jailbreak tries - get the verbose loop. :(
both versions give the same result.
It could be that the PPC systems do behave differently (timing or whatever)

Same problem like the others seem to have...BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0 BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0 BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0 ....
Tried it many times. On Mac OX and Vista computers. On this particular iPod touch I have also a problem trying with the other method as well and get the "unknown error 1" when i try to downgrade to 1.1.1.
I wonder if the two issues are connected and maybe there is some problems with some ipods out there...

THIS DOESN'T WORK. You just get an iPod Touch with "BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0" on your screen.

When I Ziphone'd mi iTouch, after a while (long time!) it stopped working. After I stopped the program, the screen was full of:
BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0
BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0
BSDRoot : md0, major 2, minor 0
....
And I could no more restore or use it!
Have an idea? Is he dead?
Thanks
