iPhone developer Nor Eagle, maker of the infamous Farting Boobs, recently revealed some details regarding their next iPhone application: Fumbers. Fumbers is a numbers game that its developer claims will help fight Alzheimer's Disease, no less.
"It is true," said T. Benjamin Larsen, Nor Eagle CEO and Creative Director. "We strongly believe Fumbers should have a preventive effect on Alzheimer's. No we're not claiming any preposterous magical cure for this very serious disease, but Fumbers' mechanics fits perfectly with what is called 'the cognitive reserve theory'. Studies suggest that exercising your brain might help prevent the effect of the disease."
But while Larsen is happy to tout any positive effect on the brain he is quick to point out that Fumbers is first and foremost a game. "It is most definitely a game, and as such the main point of its existence is to entertain. Even the title implies this, the name 'Fumbers' is derived from 'fun' and 'numbers'." When asked about further details he is happy to share his ambitions for Fumbers: "It is a game of memory and pace. The basic of the game is a very simple mechanic and our goal is to deliver an experience that appeals to everyone. And by 'everyone' I really mean everyone, no matter what gender or age!" he finished. Fumbers for the iPhone & iPod touch will retail for $ 1.99 and is expected to be released later this month.
