Intel may have accidentally revealed Apple's plans to release a Core i5 MacBook Pro in an e-mail sent out to members of the Intel Retail Edge Program.

The email describes a prize draw for the month of January. It reads, "January Prize Draw: Win a MacBook Pro. Pass this month's trainings for 2 chances to win one of 2 MacBook Pro laptops with the accelerated response of an Intel Core i5 processor."

The promotion was sent to program members in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France and possibly other countries.

Its been long rumored that the MacBook Pro line would eventually be upgraded with the Core i5 processor. SYSMark 2007 shows an overall performance gain of almost 20% on a 2.53GHz Core i5-540M vs. a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo P8700, according to benchmarks by AnandTech.
