Apple will launch the 'iPhone 13' on schedule next year, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a new investor note, Kuo says mass production of the next generation iPhone and a new A15 chip will revert back to the usual timeframe.

Apple typically begins mass production of the iPhone in early summer but this year it's said to have started in September. This led to a postponed iPhone event in October and split release dates of October 23 for the 5G iPhone 12 and 12 Pro and November 13 for the 5G iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Kuo also notes that a drop in TSMC's capacity utilization rate for A14 chips from 100% to 80% in 1Q21 is largely due to seasonality factors. He says iPhone demand remains strong especially for the iPhone 12 Pro which has had some camera component shortages.
