Tapity has announced the release of Grades 1.0, their grade management application for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Grades shows students what they need to score on their upcoming assignments, tests, and finals, in order to get the grades they want. With Grades students plug in the items and weights from their syllabus and then plug in the grades they have already received. Grades then calculates the scores they will need on their upcoming syllabus items (quizzes, tests, finals, etc.) in order to get the grade they want in their class.
"I really built the app for myself," said Jeremy Olson, founder of Tapity. "It all started when I bombed my Statistics exam and I wanted to know what grades I needed to get in order to still get an A. Now, a year later, I am excited to help other college students out of the same dilemma." But you don't need to have bombed a test for Grades to be useful - if you're doing well in your classes, you can also use Grades for peace of mind and to know how much time you should spend studying for each class (for example, "I only need to get an 80 on my Biology final but I need a 91 on my English paper, better focus on English").
