Following up on a report that claims Apple will finally switch to USB-C for the iPhone 15, Kuo notes that the portless iPhone may not be possible yet due to limitations in wireless technology and an immature accessory ecosystem.
1. Portless iPhone may cause more problems due to current limitations of wireless technologies & the immature MagSafe ecosystem.
He then goes on to predict that Apple will switch its other Lightning products to USB-C as well.
2. Other Lightning port products (e.g., AirPods, Magic Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse, MagSafe Battery) would also switch to USB-C in the foreseeable future.
While Apple has resisted a change to USB-C for the iPhone, the EU has firmly laid out plans to force Apple to switch to USB-C. A separate report recently confirmed Apple has already begun testing iPhone models with USB-C.
