In addition to launching a new 'iPhone 17 Air' model next year, Apple is purportedly planning some significant changes to its other iPhone models.
A new rumor from The Information claims that Apple will switch to aluminum frames for the iPhone 17 lineup. That's a departure from the stainless steel and titanium frames used for current models.
Additionally, the site's sources say that the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a large aluminum camera bump that takes up the top portion of the back.
The back of the Pro and Pro Max models will feature a new part-aluminum, part-glass design. The top of the back will comprise a larger rectangular camera bump made of aluminum rather than traditional 3D glass. The bottom half will remain glass to accommodate wireless charging, two people said.
If accurate, it appears Apple has some major changes on the way for iPhone. These updates are in addition to the completely redesigned 'iPhone 17 Air' that's rumored to replace the iPhone 17 Plus.
We're not expecting Apple to unveil the iPhone 17 until September 25, so it's likely even more details will leak out over the coming months. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for the latest updates!
