TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revised his forecast for Apple's next-generation AirPods Pro, now predicting a launch in the second half of 2025. This marks a shift from his earlier expectation that a major update was not likely until 2026.
Kuo's latest industry survey, shared on X, indicates that Apple plans to release the AirPods Pro 3 in the latter half of next year. In May, the analyst suggested that major AirPods updates were unlikely before 2026. Today's report adds an important distinction, noting that a more significant hardware upgrade—an IR camera-equipped model—is still anticipated for 2026. This suggests Apple may be planning a two-stage rollout for its next-generation earbuds.
The revised outlook is now more in step with Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has also pointed to a fall 2025 release. In addition, Apple is reportedly experimenting with a case that features touch controls and continuing work on previously rumored additions, such as heart-rate monitoring sensors. The new Pro model is not expected to see a dramatic exterior redesign. If accurate, AirPods Pro 3 could evolve into a more health-focused wearable while still delivering design refinements and performance improvements.
