Apple Releases Firmware Update for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4

Apple released firmware updates today for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4.

For AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, the new firmware version is 8A356, that's up from 7E93.

Apple has yet to disclose the official list of improvements; however, previously announced features include:
● "Studio-Quality" Audio Recording: Record higher-quality audio for content creation and calls, leveraging the H2 chip and computational audio.
● Enhanced Voice Quality for Calls: An improvement on Voice Isolation that provides clearer, more natural voice quality during phone and video calls.
● Camera Remote: Use the AirPods stem to take a photo or start and stop video recordings on a paired iPhone or iPad.
● Live Translation: Get real-time language translation delivered directly to your ears. (This is an Apple Intelligence feature and requires the ANC model for AirPods 4).
● Automatic Pausing When You Fall Asleep: AirPods can now detect when a user falls asleep and will automatically pause the audio, which is ideal for podcasts and audiobooks.
● Battery Charging Notifications: Your iPhone will now send notifications when the AirPods case battery is low or has finished charging.

Find your AirPods firmware version on your iPhone or iPad
To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info buttonInfo button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.

Find your AirPods firmware version on your Mac
To use your Mac to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of macOS. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Bluetooth, then click the Info button next to the name of your AirPods.
