Apple has released the fourth developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4, moving the operating system another step closer to a public launch. The update carries build number 25E5233c and drops alongside the latest test builds for iOS and iPadOS.
So far, the macOS 26.4 testing cycle has centered on practical system refinements rather than massive new features. The first beta introduced a long-requested Charge Limit feature in System Settings. It lets MacBook users manually cap their battery's charge anywhere between 80 and 100 percent. This is a useful option for extending battery lifespan on machines that stay plugged into a monitor or dock most of the day.
The broader artificial intelligence overhaul many anticipated for this spring is still absent from this cycle. Sweeping upgrades to Siri, including advanced conversational capabilities, were reportedly pushed to a later release after internal testing revealed performance issues.
Fourth betas usually focus on fixing bugs uncovered earlier in the testing phase. We are installing the software now and will share if any major changes surface.
Registered developers can pull the update directly via the Software Update menu in System Settings, or grab the latest restore image from the Apple Developer Center.
