Apple has seeded the first developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5 for testing. The update carries build number 25F5042g and drops alongside the latest test builds for iOS and iPadOS.
This release arrives shortly after the public launch of macOS Tahoe 26.4, which introduced a manual Charge Limit feature for MacBook batteries and added support for the new Studio Display lineup.
While Apple hasn't published specific release notes for today's build, the 26.5 cycle is closely watched. Earlier reports suggested Apple shifted the testing timeline for major Siri enhancements after encountering performance snags earlier this year. We are installing the software now to see if any of those advanced generative capabilities or other system refinements are active in this initial rollout.
Registered developers can download the macOS restore image directly from the Apple Developer Center or pull the update over the air via the Software Update menu in System Settings.
