Apple Releases macOS Tahoe 26.5 Beta 2 to Developers [Download]

Apple has seeded the second developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5 for testing. The latest build, 25F5053d, arrives two weeks after the initial seed of this software branch.



Today's update was released to developers alongside the second developer beta of iOS 26.5. While Apple has not provided a detailed list of new features for this specific build, it appears to focus on system stability and resolving performance issues discovered during the first stage of testing.


The macOS 26.5 cycle follows the public rollout of macOS Tahoe 26.4 late last month. That previous version introduced a manual Charge Limit feature to help preserve MacBook battery health and enabled compatibility with the recently launched Studio Display and Studio Display XDR.

Registered developers can download the new beta by navigating to System Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the macOS Tahoe Developer Beta from the Beta Updates row. The full restore image is also available through the Apple Developer Center for those performing clean installations.
