Apple has seeded the third developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5 for testing. The update carries build number 25F5058e and arrives alongside the third beta of iOS 26.5.
This release drops exactly one week after the second beta was provided to testers. While Apple has not published a detailed list of new features for today's build, the 26.5 cycle appears to focus heavily on system stability and resolving performance issues discovered during earlier testing phases.
The macOS 26.5 cycle follows the recent public launch of macOS Tahoe 26.4 late last month. That previous version introduced a manual Charge Limit feature to help preserve MacBook battery health and enabled compatibility with the newly launched Studio Display models. As with the mobile betas released today, the much-anticipated generative AI upgrades for Siri are not included in this branch and are expected to debut in a future major software update.
Third betas usually concentrate on patching bugs rather than adding sweeping new features, but we are installing the software now and will highlight any significant changes if they surface.
Registered developers can download the new beta by navigating to System Settings, clicking General, and selecting Software Update. The full restore image is also available through the Apple Developer Center for those performing clean installations.
