Apple has ordered a new half-hour comedy series starring and executive produced by four-time Emmy Award nominee Elizabeth Banks, expanding its growing slate of original programming.
Created by Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, the untitled series follows Heidi, played by Banks, as she rebuilds her life after a messy divorce. While trying to carve out a fresh start for herself and her children, she unexpectedly finds herself coordinating the sex lives of residents at her father's retirement community. The situation pulls her into an unlikely partnership with the perpetually single son of her father's girlfriend.
Production is set to begin in Los Angeles later this year. Heldens, known for "Will Trent" and "Friday Night Lights," and Ward will serve as showrunners. Jonathan Krisel will direct the pilot and executive produce. Banks executive produces alongside Max Handelman and Krissy Wall through Brownstone Productions, with Quinn Haberman executive producing for Selfish Mermaid and Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.
The order adds to Apple's expanding comedy lineup. The platform is preparing for the summer 2026 return of its flagship hit Ted Lasso and recently handed an early fourth season renewal to "Shrinking," underscoring its continued investment in original comedy series.
