Apple has officially confirmed that the fourth season of its hit comedy series "Ted Lasso" will premiere globally in summer 2026. The company also shared a first glimpse at the new season, which is currently in production with Jason Sudeikis returning to star and executive produce.
The narrative takes a distinct turn this season as Ted returns to Richmond to face his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second-division women's football team. Apple says the season will focus on Ted and the team learning to "leap before they look," taking chances they previously thought impossible.
Much of the original ensemble cast is set to return. The lineup features Emmy Award winner Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, and Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein. The show is also adding several new cast members, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.
This continuation aligns with Apple's broader strategy for the year, as executives recently highlighted the return of key franchises as part of their 2026 content roadmap. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television, and Bill Lawrence's Doozer Productions. Lawrence and Goldstein also collaborate on the comedy Shrinking, which remains a staple on the platform. Additionally, Jack Burditt has joined "Ted Lasso" as an executive producer under a new overall deal.
The new season will stream on the service recently rebranded from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV. Since its debut, the series has broken records, becoming the most Emmy-nominated freshman comedy in history and securing back-to-back Outstanding Comedy Series wins for its first two seasons.
