App Store submissions are now open for apps and games built for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27 ahead of the upcoming public releases.
In its developer news update, Apple directs developers to build with the Xcode 27 release candidate and the latest SDKs. Apps can be tested through TestFlight before being submitted to App Review, with the new software supporting technologies including Apple Intelligence, the Foundation Models framework, and updated designs.
For macOS 27, developers will need to prepare for an Apple silicon-only release. macOS 26 is the final version to support Intel Mac computers and Rosetta. Those who want to limit their apps to Apple silicon can set the Xcode build architecture to arm64 only before rebuilding and resubmitting.
App Store Connect is adding a social media capabilities question to the age-rating process. Developers whose apps or games include those features will need to indicate them.
New product page headers and search result assets are available as well, accompanied by design guidance and templates for screenshots, app previews, and In-App Events. A product page preview tool that shows developers how a page will appear on the App Store before publication is coming soon to App Store Connect.
Beginning in April 2027, iPhone and iPad apps uploaded to App Store Connect must be built with the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 SDK or later. Uploads for Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch will similarly require the tvOS 27, visionOS 27, and watchOS 27 SDKs or later.
