MuscleNerd has announced that iOS 4.0 Final, set to arrive next week, is confirmed to be unlockable for existing devices and possibly even for the iPhone 4.

@htetard yep...the final 4.0 next week will be an even later version and is confirmed unlockable (possibly iPhone4 too)

No such thing as un-hackable?? Are you trying to tell me people don't wish they had those cool hacked DSS cards where you got every channel anymore?? It's been many years now and once they plugged the hole, it has been un-hackable. GeoHot are anyone else is welcome to prove me wrong...please :)

My question to everyone ? I have looked iPhone 3g & 3gs both os 3.1.3 with firmware 5.12.x will I able to upgrade my os 4.0. The tricky question is that 4ios comes with firmware 4.x.x so j m worried ?

How so many people cannot read correctly English language ! Even for me, I 'am French language speaking, I can understand that "UNLOCKABLE" means "CAN BE UNLOCKED". And for "UNLOCKING" successfully we will have to JAILBREAK first. So yes, iOS 4 IS "JAILBREACKABLE" and "UNLOCKABLE". Hope that's clear for evrey one.

Oh!! I guess they will find an unlock soon! anyway, thank God that my 3GS is unlocked by my service provider and also I have pre-ordered an unlocked version of the iphone 4 :)

biboi, you have to wait like all of us. Once 4.0 is released, I'm sure iClarified will have a detailed tutorial for all of us. Until then, try and relax and don't stress yourself much.

"Unlockable" means devices can be unlocked, which is good news.

Unlockable means devices can be unlocked. In general, an unlock is done only after a device is jailbroken, except for factory unlock, which does not require jailbreak.

This is confusing, the comments and everything, so: -The new bootrom for 3GS (5.13) is unlockable? -Is iOS4 unlockable after all or is just "maybe"??? So if I have a new 3GS running 3.1.3 with 5.13 will I be able to JB and unlock? or do I need to update to iOS4? I always wait for at least a week cause of this... :( That based on MuscleNerd comments.

There is no "iPhone 4G" -- it's iPhone 4. iPhone 4 is 3G compatible and downward, not 4G...
