If you don’t feel like shelling out $30 for a bumper for your iPhone 4, Oliver Nelson has posted a DIY for a $1 alternative to a bumper. The bracelets which Lance Armstrong made popular are cheap, and easy alternative to the bumpers, and actually do fix the reception issue.

All you have to do is wrap the bracelet around the iPhone. Unfortunately, you will have to cut a whole for the 30-pin port, the speakers, the headphone jack, and the secondary mic.

This is for "OneBlackJack", are you a fanboy of apple?, or just crying because your beloved iphone is broken?. Face facts, the iphone 4 has problems and people have the right to moan because they spent money on this product and it does not work tidy. Yes Quality from apple for the new iphone is poor, QC (quality control) must of been bad in their factories. Maybe apple will do a recall for some rework :L :L :L

I actually do own the immaculate iPhone 4. I used to own a T-mobile MDA (made by HTC) but quality control was so bad I actually went through 8 phones in the matter of a 3 months. They'd ship one and the screen would be crooked, or a few buttons wouldn't work on the keyboard. Lame!!! This type of stuff wouldn't happen if HTC wasn't manufacturing junk.

why so much pain? just cover the strip with a small piece of insulation tape...Isnt that too simple?

Exactly! Or even plain ol' clear/transparent tape, for that matter. The reception on a friends iPhone 4 really does seem to be a bit better than my 3Gs as long as he doesn't put his phone into his shoe … can't hear either side of the conversation, then.

C'mon Apple has gone of the track, it used to be a good brand with quality products, but as it became popular, it also lost its quality, you should never had to fix any issues...

Are......you.....going to the mall later??? Just kidding! Anywho, I was going to really rip you a new one, but I'll be nice this time around. If Apple/ iPhone isn't your choice, then please enlighten us as to which device is superior in quality!!!! Please, we're eager to hear your wisdom.

Although it is a great idea, and does actually look good. Come on guys and girls. You shell out 300.00 for a really nice looking phone. Go ahead and shelll out another 30 for the bumper.

Isn't this what Apple is doing? A nice 2800% profit?

I'd rather use a WWJD band (What Would Jobs Do)...
