Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities believes that Apple will launch a 7-inch Retina Display iPad with 128GB of memory next year, according to AppleInsider.
Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities said this week that suppliers contacted during a trip to Taipei indicated that Apple plans to launch a new iPad in the first quarter of the 2011 calendar year. In addition to having a smaller 7-inch size, he also said the device will have a "micro or mini USB" port.
Goldman Sachs also predicted a 7-inch iPad and that the device would be getting mini-USB, in a late September report.
why would want to hold a huge iPad (compared to pretty much anything else) or any other tablet in the air to take a photo? I'd feel like a bell end.
wouldn't it make more sense to grab a photo that was taken on your iPhone and sync it via WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G to your iPad (Apple are working on this) or via iTunes once it's docked.
Why would Apple bother to put a micro-usb on a 7-inch iPad when they've used the same sized connector for all other similar products? The iPhone doesn't use one and it's a lot smaller than 7 inches.
Micro-USB is going to be the de-facto standard for all mobiles (well those manufacturers that agreed and lots did including the big players, Apple being one of them) for charging up the battery. even if the new iPad doesn't and I'm guessing that it will have micro-USB the next iPhone will definitely have one and most likely instead of Apple's own proprietary connector.
Micro-USB is the future in mobile physical connectivity, everyone best be ready to dump all their all iDevice compatible hardware and spend a mint replacing them all. This goes for all mobile phones you have not just from Apple.
