Games Above Board has announced Rhumb Line as its first iPhone and iPod touch game App.
Developed by Ethan Nicholas of Naughty Bits Software, Rhumb Line for iPhone and iPod touch features two player competitive play, or three levels of computer difficulty for solo action, as well as a bright Caribbean soundscape and clean animation. The nautical game is based on ancient mariner history, seafaring lore and pastimes. The object is to out-navigate the opposition to achieve victory. Three ways to score on the compass rose game board and a twist in the tail to turn the tide and rule the waves.

Players are Officer yellow or Sailor blue and, taking turns, nuggets are placed, one at a time, building and/or blocking point-scoring rhumb line combinations: 4 same-colour nuggets in a radius is 10 points, an arc 20 points and a spiral 30 points. More than one combination may be scored at a time. Toward the end, and to avoid a foregone conclusion, players remove any one of their nuggets (once only) and, on their next turn, place it somewhere else on the board. Throughout the game, the score is kept on the players' end of the board and, when the board is full, the player with the most points is the winner.
Pricing and Availability: Rhumb Line 1.1 is only $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the Apple iTunes App. Store in the Games category.
