Darrell Etherington of GigaOM has published an article on The Street outlining what features he expects for the iPad 2.
Here's the run down: ● Both a front and back camera. The front one being VGA and the back one being 5MP. ● Two dock connectors. One for vertical and one for horizontal positioning. ● Slimmer and lighter. Aluminum back unless Apple is ready with its nitride coating for stainless steel. ● A4 processor. Probably 1.5GHz. At least 512MB of RAM ● Retina Display ● Double the storage to 128GB.
Who on earth would want a 5MP camera? Noone would use the huge iPad as a camera replacement. All it needs is a little camera for Facetime.
1.5Ghz processor is a no-no, technology hasn't advanced that far yet, the A4 is still topping out at 1Ghz. Even if they do release a souped up processor, the battery tech also hasn't moved on - a 1.5Ghz would kill battery life even more than the current processor.
Retina display is also not going to happend - people bandy about that term without even knowing what it means. The iPad already has a higher resolution than the iPhone 4 with its Retina display (1024x768 vs 960x640). It just has those pixels spread across a larger screen. For the iPad to get the same pixel density as the Retina display, it would need a resolution of 2530x1897 - higher than the most powerful macbook pro. Never ever going to happen.

So true, if Apple put à retina display on iPad it Will be the highest res display the sell, the iMac 27" only have 2560x1440 pixels! And Its alot bigger!
I'm sure that it will be lighter and slimmer and probably faster. On the other hand I've no idea about their plan on the display technology of the iPad. Maybe retina or maybe something else or the same exact display. I can't guess that.
But that two dock connector guess... Man it's just so crazy. It doesn't sound like Apple. It will never happen.
Also not to mention that something like that will tear up the faboulous design.
i don't think they'll go for retina display it will make ipad expensive. they'll prolly just pull out whole new technology from nowhere to improve ipad display
