Rogers to Update Pricing Ahead of iPhone

Changes in Rogers cellphone plans are coming within the next two weeks as the company plans for the release of the iPhone, according to the National Post.

Rogers president and chief operating officer Nadir Mohamed made these remarks during his keynote address at the Canadian Telecom Summit: "There's a recognition on the part of Rogers that the world has changed," Mr. Mohamed said. "We'll be changing our prices to reflect that."

"We're looking at pricing changes that will be more flexible, easy to understand and most importantly, drive the adoption of mobile broadband."

Rogers now earns about $63 in average revenue per user. Mr. Mohamed estimated the iPhone will bring in about $90 per user.

"We're on a technology path that is delivering more and more to the customer," he remarked.
