While other notebook manufacturers struggle, Apple is reportedly doubling its orders for certain MacBook models, according to DigiTimes.
Samsung has been performing better than other brands by taking up deliveries from the suppliers, the sources noted, adding that Apple reportedly is revising upward its orders with the volume of some hot-selling models being doubled.
Overall, notebook shipments from the top-five notebook makers are likely to contract by 5-10% sequentially in the first quarter, to 38 million units, or the same volume they shipped a year ago, estimated the sources.
Apple is rumored to be preparing a major update to the MacBook Pro lineup which could be released as early as March.
