Verizon iPhone sales are below what Apple and Verizon anticipated, according to a new report from BGR.
Below are unit sales totals from five Apple stores combined (including two very, very prominent Apple stores) showing both Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4 sales during the Verizon iPhone's first five days of availability:
BGR also reports that the total online pre-orders for Verizon iPhones amounted to around 550,000 units. 30% of people buying the Verizon iPhone 4 were Android users, 25% were BlackBerry users, and 14% were AT&T iPhone users. The remain percent didn't want to say, didn't have a smartphone, or didn't have a cellphone at all.

If Verizon and Apple had waited for the iphone 5 (or during the iphone 4) announcement in June then it would have been a monster. This was just a seemingly random announcement beginning of the year and with that brings an 'outdated' feel to it.
Unless I move and there is no att 3g I see no reason to switch.

Well I know if I were a Blackberry or Android user I would have done the switch also. I've had both phones and iPhone is still my favorite choice. I think the tied up contracts is definitely a reason that numbers maybe a little lower then expected but I don't really know why they thought everyone was going to jump to Verizon. The disadvantages of Verizon IMO are pretty significant and I for one would not jump ship to Verizon. But that's my opinion.

Because everyone wanted it 5 years ago! They've since moved on. If they really wanted the phone they went to AT&T and are tied to a contract.

Not true at all. Didn't you see the 30% of the new users were Android users? Or blackberry users? Everyone is waiting for the iPhone 5. It's not a matter of if but when.

Seriously.. Who in their right mind is going to buy a 4 when if you wait a few months you can no doubt get a 5 for the same price & contract.
