Apple Investigated By South Korea, France, Germany, Italy Over iPhone Tracking

Apple is being investigated by South Korea, France, Germany, and Italy over a recent report that it secretly stores a complete location history of iPhone users, according to Bloomberg.

The Korea Communications Commission asked Apple how often information is collected and saved, and whether users have a choice over whether it is saved or deleted, the commission said in an e-mailed statement today. Apple must explain why such data is saved on devices and if it’s stored on the company’s servers.

South Korea is the most recent country to join the list of those investigating Apple for the practice. In the U.S. Senator Al Franken has penned an open letter to Steve Jobs asking for answers regarding the situation.
