Apple Files For iCloud Trademark in Europe

Apple has filed a trademark application for 'iCloud' in Europe, according to Patently Apple.

The application was filed in a whopping 12 classifications that cover areas such as delivering digital music by telecommunications, electronic storage, online social networking services, multimedia content for a fee or pre-paid subscription, computer software, electronic books and magazines, entertainment, photographic services, business management and advertising services, games, headgear and digital devices/computers.

Interestingly, Apple's priority filing for iCloud was actually done in Jamaica (application number 057024) on December 07, 2010.

Apple is said to have acquired the rights to iCloud.com from Xcerion for $4.5 million. It's assumed that Apple purchased the trademark rights as well since Xcerion rebranded their iCloud service to CloudMe.
