Apple Says 'We Stopped Supporting Carrier IQ With iOS 5'

Apple has just issued a statement on the Carrier IQ debacle saying that although it used Carrier IQ in the past, it recently stopped supporting it and will completely remove it in the future, according to AllThingsD.

"We stopped supporting Carrier IQ with iOS 5 in most of our products and will remove it completely in a future software update. With any diagnostic data sent to Apple, customers must actively opt-in to share this information, and if they do, the data is sent in an anonymous and encrypted form and does not include any personal information. We never recorded keystrokes, messages or any other personal information for diagnostic data and have no plans to ever do so."

I don't believe that for one second. It's nonsense that they never ever recorded keystrokes! I bet they did, just they don't now.

Read the article, not the title. Apple said it had stopped supporting Carrier IQ in most of its products. This means they are still using it!! If Apple is so great, why did they use Carrier IQ up until 5.0 and not tell their customers about it? Let's not forget what happened in April this year when security researchers found iOS 4 tracked users location. "The decision to track and store a users' location in a local file is highly unusual. Mr. Warden and Mr. Allan searched for similar code in Google Inc.'s (GOOG) open source smart phone/tablet operating system, Android, but could not find one." Apple has a lot of business because their customers believe every excuse Apple puts out.

That's how you solve the issue apple. And that is why they have my business and are number 1 in the industry.
