AT&T is not yet supporting the personal hotspot feature of the new 4G LTE iPad, according to tweets from company representatives.

Nick Thulin asked both carriers if they would offer tethering on the new device.

@ATTCustomerCare will you offer tethering for the new iPad?
@NickThulin As of now we are not. If it changes we will tweet it out.

While Verizon didn't flat say it won't offering tethering, it doesn't sound good.

@VZWsupport will you offer the personal hotspot option with the new #iPad?
@NickThulin The device is hotspot capable, but no info regarding the plans at this time. Visit bit.ly/xKux1O for updates.

Update:
Verizon is now saying that it is in fact supporting the hotspot feature at no additional cost.

The new iPad on the Verizon Wireless network will have the mobile hotspot feature. Our 4G LTE tablets have the mobile hotspot feature and it is included in the tablet data plans so for example, customers who sign up for the $30 for 2GB plan will also have access to the mobile hotspot feature.
